About
A Journey Into Sound Into With CL the Mixologist
I had plans to start a blog to highlight all the music I love years ago, but then, for no particular reason it just did not manifest. I thought to myself, “maybe I will start it on my birthday.” Birthday came and went, no blog. “Maybe on a holiday, yeah, I will start on…” All the calendar holidays zoomed on by. No blog. I spent a little time which morphed into a lot of time trying to make what I thought would be the perfect mix. I was listening a ton of professionals that had DJ in front of their [stage] names and I realized what separates me from them.
I am a fan of DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Neil Armstrong, DJ Juice and many others, but I realized, quickly, that I could never be a DJ for one reason. Well, many reasons, but go with me here on this one particular reason: A DJ is responsible for moving an entire crowd. I consider myself to a tad bit selfish in that regard because I like what I like. I don’t really have a desire to move a crowd. I don’t like everything, but that is what separates MY MIX from yours. Everyone has music they love to sing to, ride to, vibe to, relax to, etc., etc. This is just my space (RIP MYSpace) where I present you with some of the music that has become a part of my life. You may like some of the mixes. You may skip some because they may not fit into your sing-along-to, vibe to, relax to or [fill in the blank] to. Either way, I appreciate you stopping by.
Honestly, I feel like there is just too much music out there for one person to sort through all of it. There are a ton of artists that are great that will never make it to radio. Hopefully I can highlight some of those lesser known artists along with some of the megastars that we all have come to know and love. You may find yourself falling in love with some underground – or at least underrated artists – that I have come to love. Who knows what you will discover when you are willing to take this musical journey into sound with me. You may find yourself buying albums or concert tickets to an artist that you didn’t know existed before you discovered this blog.
