Just gonna put this right here.
Joyce Wright - "Blurred Lines." No, it's not a Robin Thicke remake. It's a nice slow groove that I should have discovered in 2018 when it was released. I know there are other tracks, but I haven't heard everything from her yet. I just know that the sound sparked my attention enough to post something. She has worked with SiR, who has also worked with Alex Isley. Wrice is also in California, so that sound is part of a common thread that I think is building on the west coast. I am looking forward to more from what appears to be another young talent from the West. This is her website: https://www.joycewrice.com

If you have seen PJ Morton performing you are probably already familiar with The Amours. This duo is making some great music. The Mon Amour project is an EP that dropped in April 2019. It will leave you wanting more from these two. There is a sound that is reminiscent of Morton, but Jaikya and Shaina are able to hold their own. I knew when I saw the Gumbo Unplugged performance that these ladies had a sound nice enough to put them in the spotlight.
I was unaware, however, that an EP was on the way. All the songs are under 3 minutes so you will probably listen multiple times and wish that there was more to consume.I hope that these 6 songs are the beginning of many more tracks to come because their vibe is a nice beginning to melodic summer. |
